Each year, Americans celebrate Veterans Day on November 11. It is a holiday near and dear to my heart because I have several family members who have served in the military, and I am so very proud of their service to this great country.
Did you know that November 11 was originally known as Armistice Day and was intended as a day to honor specifically veterans of World War I? In 1954, President Eisenhower signed a bill proclaiming November 11 as Veterans Day – a day to honor the service of ALL U.S. veterans.
